Your Crazy Ideas Might Be Your Most Effective

She turns up on set...She’s wearing a huge, baggy pair of trousers, a shirt, an oversize man’s waistcoat and a tie.
Oh, a floppy hat tops it all off.
The costumer designer goes across to the director...
"Is she kidding? She can’t wear that. It’s crazy!"
The director: "Leave her. She’s a genius."
That strange getup went on to influence the fashion of the time.
The woman was Diane Keaton and it was the set of Woody Allen’s 1977 film Annie Hall.
In fact, the look became known as the ‘Annie Hall’ look.
But the costume designer thought she was mad...
In normal circumstances she wouldn’t have let the costume through. The ‘look’ would never have been.
This is a crazy idea
I wonder how many great ideas have been lost because they seemed too crazy - too many is my bet.How many times someone come to you, with what seemed like a crazy idea and you’ve dismissed it out of hand?
Heck, I know I’m guilty.
Only recently, Binary Betting expert John Piper came to us with a system that requires people to check the financial markets between 8am and 8.30am.
Sounded a bit crazy to me: a bit too early.
But on this occasion, we tried it - I gave it to a group of my testers and they loved it.
Another example...
One of the most famous headlines for a sales promotion reads:
"Trout Spoken Here. Also Bass. Salmon. And Bonefish."
Now I’ve got to admit, if you put that in front of me and asked my opinion I’d start thinking you’d gone a little mad.
Guess what.
It’s so famous because it’s one of the most successful sales letters ever!
And our currency expert Tom Tragget...
When he first told us that he thought one of the safest currencies in the world was going to crash - we thought he was talking funny.
But he called it exactly right. The currency fell and he and his subscribers were able to pick up some nice profits.
In fact, he expects to fall further!
Your crazy ideas might be your most effective
Sure, regular, run-of-the-mill ideas do work. But anyone can come up with those...They’re not breakthrough ideas. There not the ones that can really change things.
You have to take the risk sometimes.
You have to go with an idea that might be outside your comfort zone... go with it and see how it plays.
Maybe you’ve been sitting on an idea for an online business.
Or maybe you’ve got an idea to improve something at work that you’ve been hesitating to share with your boss because you think it’s too out-there.
Or maybe it’s something in your personal life... it could be anything... maybe like Diane Keaton you’ve got a kooky idea of how to dress but you think you might get funny looks.
Whatever your crazy idea might be, in whatever area of your life - let it out today.
Give it the chance. You might be surprised how effective it is.
Best Wishes,
Glenn Fisher
