How To Get Your Hair Cut For Free

Terrible news...Apparently, I have a high ‘recession area’.
Don’t worry, though. It’s nothing to do with being stung by the ‘financial’ recession.
It turns out the financial world shares the term with... hairdressers!
A high recession area is a more diplomatic way to say - Glenn, you’re receding!
And to rub salt into the wound it turns out I have quite a flat occipital bone - that’s the back, sticking-out bit of your head.
But...
On the upside I discovered all this last night getting an incredibly expensive haircut at a top London salon in Mayfair...
For free.
Fancy doing the same?
Your country’s hairdressers need you
Getting your haircut these days can be an expensive game. And, if you’re like me, you can feel a bit slighted paying for someone to actually take something away from you!
But the alternative is everyone walking around looking like the dubious model Fabio!
So how do you save a packet and remain folically fashionable?
Well, here’s the thing...
Few people are born hairdressers in the same way that very few people are born quantum physicists - people need to train, they need to practice their skills.
So, hairdressers need heads of hair to train on.
And that’s where the opportunity for a free haircut comes in.
You see last night I was a ‘model’.
Believe me, I’m no Hugh Grant or Jude Law and you won’t see my mug on the cover of GQ anytime soon. But being a hair model, you don’t need to be - all you do need is hair... hair that needs cutting.
And after a little research it turns out hairdressers up and down the country are crying out for hair models.
How to get your hair cut for free
Going about this is pretty simple and there are two main channels you can investigate...The first port of call is your local salon.
Naturally, the bigger the salon - places like Toni and Guy - the more staff they’ll have and the more training they’ll need.
Bigger salons will often advertise that they require models. But otherwise, you should pop in or call up to and ask if they are looking for hair models and if so put your name down.
Smaller salons still require models but you might find that there is a small charge - but it will often be heavily discounted.
Obviously, you’ll best know where your local hairdressers are but you can check out this index of UK hairdressers if you’re at a loss...

The second channel you can explore is your local colleges or adult education centres.
What we study at school these days has changed drastically.
I was talking to a friend last night who recently decided to start teacher training. As he’s a qualified engineer, he signed up to teach engineering.
But as the woman at the open event went round the room, my friend was amazed to hear the subjects being listed. Sports science (?), Media Studies, Events Management... it’s come a long way from only being able to do English, Maths and Science.
But where our free haircut is concerned, it’s the growing interest in Hair and Beauty that’s important. It’s a massively popular course these days. And as you can imagine, it creates a high demand for hair models.
So, it’s just a simple case of giving your local college or adult education centre a call and asking if their Hair and Beauty program is in need of hair models and then signing up for a snip.
OK, that’s all from me today as I need to turn my attention from my follicle recession to the financial recession and put the finishing touches to a brand new guide I’ve been working on to help overcome it.
I’ll let you know the details when I’m done with it, but for now I’ll let you go and sort out a cheaper chop.
Best Wishes,
Glenn Fisher
